Alexandra (Petrachkoff) Prychodczenko 81, of Salem, died at 7:20 AM Monday, April 25, 2022, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on September 29, 1940, in Yelyna District in Smolensk Oblast, Russia. The daughter of the late Vasilij "Bill" and Maria (Chesnova) Petrachkoff.

Alex and her family came to America in February, 1951 by way of the International Refugee Organization when the family was leaving the homeland. They had all moved to New Waterford, then on to Leetonia (McKeefrey Farms) and later the family farm on Hartley Road. Her education was spread out from younger days in Russia, to Germany and then here graduating a year early from the Goshen High School.

She was an active member and held numerous offices at the St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Youngstown. Alex was quite a busy person over the years. Her work at Salem Tool and other local homes she cleaned and maintained. A big project that she was faithful about was sending care packages over to Ukrainian families. The farm life was of interest to her over the years, but she loved being with those cows.

Alex is survived by her daughter Christine Marie Kline and grandson Robert John Kline, a brother John (Kelly) Petrachkoff all of Salem.

She was preceded in death on January 8, 2017, by her husband Iwan Prychodczenko whom she married on July 13, 1958, a son Michael J. Prychodczenko on October 3, 2010, and siblings; Peter and Alexander Petrachkoff and Lisa Stuby.

The funeral and Panachida service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022, 11 AM in the chapel of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church Cemetery (1300 N. Osborn Ave., Youngstown, Oh. 44509) with Fr. Mykola Zomchak officiating, and assisted by Cantor Anna Anderson.

A time of visitation will be on Thursday from 2 to 3:30 PM and a Panachida Service at 3:30 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services (1617 E. State St., Salem, Oh. 44460). There will also be an hour prior to the services in the chapel.
