Obituary

Anne Marie (Corwin) Black 65, of Warren, passed away on December 31, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of curiosity, warmth, and a deep appreciation for the beauty of the world.

She was born February 19, 1960, in Wales, England, the daughter of the late Carroll and Beverly Jean (Tellinghast) Corwin Jr.

Born into a proud military family, Anne's early years were shaped by the service of her late father in the U.S. Air Force. She carried a lifelong pride for his dedication, and his career gifted her a childhood of shifting horizons. From the tropical breezes of Hawaii to the wide plains of Texas, and the coastal reaches of Virginia and Florida, Anne learned early on that the world was a vast place meant to be explored.

This love for the journey followed her into adulthood. Anne was never happier than when she was behind the wheel, driving toward a new destination. Her career in the steel industry perfectly matched her nomadic spirit; as a metal salesperson, her work took her "over the road," turning the highway into her second home.

Anne was uniquely fascinated by the building blocks of the earth. She possessed a specialized knowledge of metallurgy and gemstones, spending time reading and researching the properties of metals and stones. Her collection of treasures was a testament to her sentimental nature—she didn't just collect objects; she collected memories and interests that caught her eye and held her heart.

She found peace in nature, often taking walks to simply "look around," noticing the small details in the environment that others might miss. Her home was often filled with the sounds of her eclectic soul—ranging from the high energy of rock and roll to the timeless elegance of classical music.

Anne's palate was as adventurous as her travel map. She had a passion for cooking and a deep love for the bold, complex flavors of Thai and Indian cuisines.

Anne will be remembered as a woman who looked at the world with wonder. She taught those who knew her to appreciate the glint of a gemstone, the spice in a meal, and the quiet beauty of a walk in the woods. She will be profoundly missed by her friends, family, and the lives she touched.

She is survived by her son Jared Monroe (Katie) Black of Warren, siblings; George (Sue) Corwin of Florida, Teresa Nelson of Illinois, Joseph (Erin) Corwin of Florida, 3 grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her sister Juanita Corwin.

Anne's life will be celebrated with a service on Friday, January 9, 2026, 11 AM, at the Warren First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Brian Daniels officiating.
