Obituary

Benjamin Franklin "Benny" Lydic Jr., 52, of Searcy, AR., (formerly from the area) died at 5:09 PM Wednesday, July 31, 2019, as the result of an accident in front of the hospital in Searcy.

Ben was born on June 3, 1967, in Youngstown, OH., the son of Louise Irene (Sowers) Lydic and the late Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Lydic Sr.

Ben grew up in Ohio, spending time living in various places in and around the area. He then moved to Austin, TX. In the past two years, he moved to the Searcy, AR area. He was currently employed at the Searcy Wal Mart in the maintenance department on the night shift. He was a very loyal and helpful employee. He was a very well known and liked in the community. His favorite restaurant was Colton's Steak House where he met many of the locals. Benny had family here in Ohio but had developed another family in Searcy. He will be sadly missed at Colton's and Wal Mart with his kind smile and politeness to all he met. Ben also followed his father and brothers example by serving in the (Ft. Jackson, SC) US Army. He was a 1985 graduate of Liberty High School in Liberty, Ohio.

In addition to his mother of Salem, he is survived by his brother David J. Lydic of Newton Falls, OH, a half brother James Sowers Esq. of San Francisco, CA., a niece Jacqueline Hanna Esq. Of Queens, NY, an uncle Ervin J. Vereckey of Girard, OH, an aunt Barbara L. Babik of Salem, and a host of cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a niece Cindy Lydic, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services will be held on Friday, 7 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A time of visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM at the funeral home. The Salem Honor Guard will be in charge of the rendering of honors and the services.

Arrangements were entrusted to his cousin, Bob Greenisen of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
