"Reunited and never to be parted again" Betty Jane (Shores) Heestand 91, of Salem, died at 10:45 PM Saturday, May 23, 2015 at her home. She was born on July 4, 1923 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Hazel (Bashaw) Shores. She was a member of the Phillips Christian Church, and was formerly employed at Holy Trinity English Lutheran Church in the office, Grants Dept. Store as a book keeper, and last at Salem Convalescent Center as a care giver. She received training at the Hannah Mullins School of Nursing and graduated from the Goshen High School. She enjoyed Reading, Knitting, flowers and her gardening. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Clay Heestand on July 21, 2001 and whom she married on June 29, 1944, and a grand daughter Trisha Heestand in 2010, a sister Velma Palmer in 2014. She is survived by her sons, Mickey (Laura) Heestand and Kenneth (Robin) Heestand all of Salem and Daryl (Amy) Heestand of Winston-Salem NC., five grandchildren, Tiffanie (Stephan) Hennard, Benjamin, Holly, John and Paul Heestand, and one great grandchild, Aubree Hennard. Services will be on Saturday, June 13, 3 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The Rev. Sheldon Cosma of the church will officiate the services. A time of visitation and viewing will be one hour before the services at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest by Marion on Monday June 15 at Highland Memorial Park, Beloit, Ohio.
