Billy Joe Flaata 35, of Salem, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 in Salem.

He was born on April 6, 1982 in Bottineau, ND., the son of Shelley Diane (Kleespie) Flaata Carlson and the late Leroy H. Flaata.

He had been last employed as a welder at MAC Trailor in Salem. He previously been employed by construction / retail store remodel companies and a computer technician / computer builder.

He loved spending time with his son making U tube movies and videos. When he was not busy, he could be found wrenching on cars and always and forever fixing things. Billy loved to play his base string guitar and spending time with his dog "Bailey".

In addition to his mother of Salem, he is survived by his son Luke William Flaata of Salem, siblings, David Flaata of Canton, Michael (Megan Modie) Flaata of Columbus and Erik (Ali Suggett) Carlson of Salem.

The family has requested that there be no services or calling hours held.
