Obituary

Carl R. Deffenbaugh Jr, 51, of Leetonia, died at 7:30 AM Monday at the home of his son in Washingtonville. He was born on November 13, 1961 in Salem, the son of Carl R. Deffenbaugh Sr. of Leetonia, and the late Ruth Elizabeth (Stouffer) Deffenbaugh (who died in 2007) He last worked at Columbiana Pump as a foreman, he had previously worked at Quaker City Castings and Diamond Auto Wrecking. Carl will be sadly missed by family and friends, but his memories will live on. He will always be remembered for his joking, pestering people and just giving everyone a hard time. He loved is Harley Davidson Motorcycle, being outdoors to go hunting and fishing. The love of nature could be seen by just visiting his home. He made pets out of many animals like his Pearl Fox, Harley. Carl loved his children, grandchildren and other family and spent time with them. He would use the phone to keep in touch or to call and see "What are you doing ?" He had previously attended the Trinity Lutheran Church in Washingtonville, a former member of the Leetonia Volunteer Fire Department, and was an accomplished Eagle Scout. He leaves behind his children, Mitchell (Mitch) Allen Deffenbaugh of Washingtonville, Marie Lynn Deffenbaugh of Leetonia, and a step son Steven Niles Baddeley of Youngstown, his siblings, Anna Mae (Husband Rick) Bell of Leetonia, Christy Lynn (Husband Fred) Griffin of Madison, Ohio, and Nancy Lee (Husband Noel) Mackenzie of Salem, and his grandchildren, Niles & Serenity Baddeley, Dustin Deffenbaugh, Emma Cartwright, Aedan & Donnie Smith. In addition to his mother who preceded him in death in 2007, is his wife, Sandra Louise (Shoemaker) Deffenbaugh who died on February 5, 2013. The family is requesting that you come and join them on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1617 East State Street, Salem, as they pay tribute and say Farwell to Carl. The family is asking that those who wish to help with the services, please make a donation to cover the expenses.
