IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Carol Mae
(Graham) Haney
March 10, 1941 – September 10, 2024
Carol Mae Haney, 83, of Berlin Center, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024 surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 10, 1941 in Butler, PA to the late Claire and Minta (Williams) Graham.
Carol was the beloved wife of John Haney Jr, for 63 years, which they celebrated their anniversary on September 8th.
As the cornerstone in her family, she gathered her family for festive dinners to celebrate all holidays and family successes. Carol loved sharing recipes that had been passed along through generations but also enjoyed trying out recipes to create new traditions. Nothing made Carol happier than having all her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren around the table for dinner.
Carol started her working career as a phone operator at People's Telephone Company. She later worked as an administrator at the 4-H Extension Office, where she also supported her daughters' activities. Carol also spent time working at JC Penney's in both Boardman and Salem, OH and as a nurse's aide and activities director at Austinwoods Nursing Home.
As a crafter, artist, and seamstress for the past 50 years, Carol traveled around the country for various craft shows and artisan festivals with her husband, John. Collectible Treasures by Ca-Jo Hobby House was Carol and John's craft company selling beautiful works of wood, stained glass and most recently hand painted glass/glassware. She learned her love of quilting from her mother and has worked to piece many intricate and timeless quilts over the years. Carol created amazing friendships and memories with her fellow crafters who had become her second family. She loved taking her grandchildren on the road to experience the crafter life when they were not in school. Carol and John had a store at the Carnation Mall in Alliance, OH for several years and for the past 12 years, Carol's hand painted glass/glassware could be found at Shaker Woods Festival. Carol also loved sharing her knowledge of crafting with her daughters and grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, John, Carol is survived by 3 daughters; Carrie (Kevin) Utt, Beth Saltsman, and Tracy (Sam) Ferry, 5 grandchildren; Ryan (Stephanie) Ferry, Kayla Ferry, Cassie (Nitin) Utt, Brandon (Haley) Ferry and Karli Utt and 4 great-grandchildren; Aiden, Lilith, Everett and Kushaal, a brother, Paul (Eileen) Graham of Carlisle, PA, and her precious dog Ginger.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Donald Graham, Marion Murray, and Clyde Graham.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem.
