Caroline (Eyrich) Cobourn Schnurrenberger 93, of Salem, died at 2 AM on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Courtyard on Lexington Avenue. She was born on December 13, 1921 in North Bloomfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Ernest V. and Florence (Carlson) Eyrich. Caroline was a resident in the Salem area most of her life. She was a 1939 graduate of Greenford High School, and a longtime member of the Greenford Christian Church and their Corner Stone group. She was a very active person and was always busy over the years. A member of the King Road Queens Club, Columbiana County Home Extension, a 4H Club advisor of the Fairfield Cloverleaves, Active with the Salem Christian Womens Club and served on their board. A member of TOPPS # 1598, organized the Country Garden Club in Columbiana. She spent summers at Berlin Lake and Ponderosa Park camping. She had been employed at Crestview School in the cafeteria for 20 years. In addition she also worked at the Wooden Hen, Columbiana Dairy Queen, Cooked at camp Frederick and Camp Pauledean, Hill Top Orchard and Farm market on Salem Grange Road. She is survived by her children, Sandee (Charles) Beiling of Columbiana, Vicki (Gary) Knizat of Winona and Allen (Linda) Cobourn of Greenford, five grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, siblings, Phyllis (Jerold) Smith of Salem, "Bud" Walter (Betty) Eyrich of Bowie, AZ., Marty ("Shorty" Clarence) Votaw of Greenford, and a brother-in-Law Walter Makoski of Poland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Burtt J. Cobourn whom she married on July 2, 1941 and who preceded her in death on March 16, 1970, and Wilbur D. Schnurrenberger whom she married on May 19, 1972 and who preceded her in death on March 12, 2000, and a sister Lois Makoski. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, August 29, 11 AM at the Greenford Christian Church. The Rev. John Bush will be officiating the services and burial will be in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church. Donations can be made to the Big Reach C/O Greenford Christian Church or to Grace Hospice 7206 Market Street, Suite B, Youngstown, Ohio 44512. The Family would like to thank Bob Hutton, his family and loving staff at the Courtyard for all the love and care they gave to Caroline. They made her feel like she was part of their whole family.
