Carolyn Shirley (Hillman) Mulac 80, of Salem, died at 7:50 AM Saturday at Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. She was born on May 18, 1932 in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of the late Elbert and Lula Belle (Hopkins) Hillman. She has been a resident of Salem since 2003. She was a waitress at Ace's Hardware and at Kent Quality Care., all in Kent, Ohio. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Ann Knapp of Salem, siblings, George Hillman of Ill., Maude (Richard) Ferry of Wa., Patricia Sanders of Wash. DC., and Barton Hillman of Ore, there are three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Mulac whom she married in 1952 and who died in 1997, and siblings, Betty Sharp, Judy Tronge, and Albert, Richard, Mark, and Jerry Hillman. At Carolyn's request that there be no calling hours or public services held. The family will be having a private burial. A golden heart stopped beating, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts To prove to us, He only takes the best On behalf of the family, they would like to thank the Salem Community Hospital, the Emergency Room Staff, Social Services for all their help they gave. It was their help that made the last days of Carolyn's life much easier. The Hospice of the Valley Staff, Hospice House in Poland and Dr. Mashburn were so loving and caring during her final days. Carolyn was very comfortable with the doctor that she looked forward to seeing him each day for his visits.
