Charlene A. (Smith) DeJane 70, of Salem, died at 1:42 PM Friday, July 22, 2022, at her home.

She was born on September 20, 1951, in Salem, the daughter of Carlton "Jim" and Gladys (Berger) Smith.

She has been a lifetime area resident and worked at various places as a cook. There was a time that she was a clerk at the Strouss's Department Store in downtown Salem. Charlene always enjoyed cooking and reading up on new things to make. The use of Facebook made her life easier to keep up with family and friends. She was an avid fan of all the Cleveland Sports.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Twing D. DeJane whom she married on October 20, 1979, her children, Ty DeJane and Matte DeJane who live in Colorado and a grandson Taber DeJane.

There will be no services or calling hours held per her request.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, Ohio.
