IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Kent
Malloy
May 13, 1941 – November 3, 2024
C. Kent Malloy 83, of Bradenton, Fla. (Formerly of Salem, Oh.) died Sunday, November 3, 2024, at the home of his daughter in Salem.
He was born on May 13, 1941, in Salem, Ohio, the son of the late Charles Andrew and Ruthanna (White) Malloy.
He retired in 1996 as a foreman from American Steel Foundry in Alliance. Kent grew up in Salem, attended St. Paul's School and graduated from Salem High School in 1959. He was a terrific quarterback coached by Earl Bruce at Salem High School and went on to play for Fairmount State in West Virginia.
Kent will always be remembered by his family and friends for his kind and generous spirit. He was always involved helping others, lending a hand, offering "his opinion" to everyone around. Kent loved to be with others, and make people laugh with his quick sense of humor.
He was a former member of Salem St. Paul's Catholic Church, had served as an Alter Boy and other positions at the church. He most currently was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bradenton. A Life Member of the Elks (formerly in Salem), American Legion and Moose Lodge all in Bradenton,
Kents love of football always stayed with him over the years, an avid fan of the Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was an avid golfer and taught some of the grandchildren how to play. Kents active life helped him to be a lovely dance partner to his wife Barbara.
Kent is survived by his wife of 61 years, the former Barbara Ann Schuster whom he married on August 10, 1963, his children; Kimberly Ann (Jim Hulton) Crosser and Richard Kent (Sherri) Malloy all of Salem, siblings; Mark (Beverly) Malloy in Tennessee, and Molly (Frank) Copacia of Salem, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Mark's twin, Michael Malloy.
