Charles Alfred Sanders SR., 66 of Salem died at 12:50 AM Thursday at his home with his family and his beloved cat Precious. He was born on September 9, 1946 in Carbon Hill, Ohio to the late George and Rebecca (Leinger) Sanders. He was employed at Jem Clay as a millright for 10 years in Sebring, Altomare Welding for 14 years in Leetonia, AA Equipment for 5 years in Leetonia, Dilco Ind for 3 years in Salem, Lewis Refuge as a bulldozer operator for 6 years in Salem, a self employed auto mechanic for 32 years in Salem. He enjoyed to go fishing, playing cards, playing pool and bowling. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Ted Sanders, half brothers, Joe and George Giffin. He is survived by his long time companion of 30 years, Naomi Wilson, his children, Lora Ann White of N. Benton, Nicole Ann (Husband James) Beers Jr. and Charles A. Sanders Jr. both of Salem, Eleven grandchildren,John White Jr., Scott White, Annie White, Kate Hickman, Margaret Hickman, Lillian Hickman, Rebecca Rishel, Charles Rishel Jr., Emily Beer, Shelby Beer and Joshua Beer a nephew David Sanders of Salem, one step niece and six step nephews, and his beloved cat Precious. Services will be on Saturday, March 9, 5 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Francis Burkhart officiating. The immediate family will hold a private burial at Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 3-5 PM.
