IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Charles Walter
Stearns
October 13, 1929 – November 14, 2018
Charles Walter Stearns 89, of (Green Twp) Canfield, died at his home early Wednesday morning, November 14, 2018. He was born on October 13, 1929 in New Albens, Ohio, son of the late Chester and Gladys (Smith) Stearns. He was a resident of Beloit for 33 years, then moved in 1991 to the farm in Canfield. Charles was 1948 graduate of Sebring High School, worked at Mullins Manufacturing in Salem, then served in the US Army during the Korean War and spent time in France. He returned to work at American Fire Clay for 15 years, then retired in 1991 from Babcock-Wilcox in Alliance. Charles loved blue grass music and spent time with the family over the years playing. He was a big fan of Box Car Willie. In his spare time he could be found fixing things, working on tractors, and being very humorous. Charles' favorite past time was Square dancing. His love for it opened the door to his dancing partner Mary Young of Carrollton, Ohio. He is survived by his children, Kenny (Carla) Stearns of PA, Dorothy Stearns of Canfield, Rita (Fred) Lohman of Salineville and Beverly McIntyre of Alliance, a sister Sally Wilson of Damascus, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
