Clara may (Moyer) Metts 84, of Salem, died at 2:44 PM Monday upon arrival at Salem Regional Medical Center Emergency Room. She was born on November 22, 1930 in Salem, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Ida (Smith) Moyer. She was a 1948 graduate of Salem High School, a 1953 graduate of the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing. She started her RN nursing career in 1953/54 at the former Salem Central Clinic, then moved to Salem Community Hospital, and ended her career with lifeline in Leetonia in 2005 for her last 5 years. She was a member of the Salem First Friends Church. She is survived by her children, Robert (Teresa) Metts of Salem and Carol May (Timothy) Espen of Bowling Green, Ohio, grandchildren, Emily and Justin Espen, Joshua D. Metts Sr, Matthew D. Metts, Monica L. Metts and Jessica L. Gilbey, great grandchildren, Blake R. Metts, Jacob M. Metts and Joshua D. Metts Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Dale Metts on November 4, 1980, and a daughter Christine Moyer. Celebration of Life Services will be held on Friday, August 28, 11 AM at the Salem First Friends Church. The Rev Pete Fowler will be officiating the services. The burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery, Salem. A time of Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5 - 7 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, and Friday from 10 - 11 AM at the Church.
