Daniel Lewis Hoopes Denver, Colo. - Daniel Lewis Hoopes, 60, of Highlands Ranch, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 in the comfort of his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank L. Hoopes and Marilyn (Lesch) Hoopes. Dan is survived by his wife of 32 years, Tee Xavier, his son Jonathan, and his brother Matt (Deb) Hoopes of Salem. He is also survived by his uncle Albert (Gayle) Lesch of Bradenton, FL and was uncle to Cassandra and Alexandra Hoopes of Cuyahoga Falls, OH and many nieces and nephews in the Denver area. Dan graduated from Salem High School in 1973 where he played bass drum in the marching band and was involved as the athletic trainer for the basketball and track teams. A Rotary Exchange student, he lived in Brazil for a year, then continuing on to graduate from Georgetown University with a degree in Foreign Service. He enjoyed a career in the hospitality industry and international business for over 35 years. Dan was an avid supporter of Bishop Machebeuf High School athletics. He enjoyed his adventures with his son, including watching Jonathan's basketball and baseball games. He spent countless hours in school gyms, concerts, and graduations of his nieces and nephews as their best uncle. Donations, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Salem High School Alumni Association. The family will receive guests on Saturday November 7th, 2015 at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem from 11:00 AM until noon.
