David Edward Ritchie 85, of Salem, died at 12:37 PM Thursday at Crandall Medical Center, Sebring. He was born on December 3, 1928 in Salem, son of the late Paul Edward and Mary (Bartges) Ritchie. David was Lutheran by faith, a 1946 Graduate of Salem High School, a 1951 graduate of Wittenberg University. He served in the US Coast Guard during the Korean War. He was formerly employed at Western Electric in Cleveland, in 1960 he returned to Salem to to join his father in the running of Harris and Company, Inc., a commercial printing company. They were located on Cleveland Street in Salem for many years then later moved to a larger facility in the Salem Industrial Park. He continued working there until his retirement in July, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Janice Morgan, his children, Walter of Boardman, Norman of Canfield and George (Victoria) of Salem, his grandchildren Samuel and Hannah both of Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Robert. There will be no public calling hours or funeral services held.
