Dawn Marie Hinkle 50, of Salem, passed away at her home on September 18, 2025.

She was born July 1, 1975, in Salem, the daughter of Robert Parker Hinkle and the late Sandra (Hanson) Hinkle, and the step-daughter of the late Diane Sue (Zimmerman) (Yingling) Hinkle.

Dawn was a 1994 graduate of West Branch High School. For close to a year, she worked as a cashier at Walmart alongside her daughter, but in her free time she was a very creative woman. She would often craft with wood as well as paint. If Dawn didn't have a paintbrush in her hand, she was either watching a true crime documentary/show, winning the lottery, or loudly and unapologetically playing her favorite music. Dawn loved spending quality time with people she loved ever since she was a kid. She wasn't afraid to sit for hours on end talking with family and friends, which was a quality she inherited from her dad, who she loved very much.

In addition to her father of Sante, South Carolina, Dawn is survived by her daughter Araya Hinkle of Salem, her brother Michael (Brittani) Hinkle of Fort Walton, Florida, 2 nephews and 1 niece.

In addition to her mother and step-mother, she was preceded in death by her brother Marc Hinkle in 2019.

A Celebration of Life Gathering is currently being planned for the summer of 2026.
