Dawn Iris (Lacy) West, 95, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Alliance & Newton Falls, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 6:45 PM from the Darby Glenn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hilliard, Ohio. She was born September 21, 1916, in Cheyenne Wyoming, daughter of the late Benjamin and Esther (Lindgren) Lacy. She was a 1943 graduate of the People's Bible College in Colorado Springs and taught there in the high school department. She was married to Rev. Kenneth M. West on June 7, 1943. Sister West was a true prayer warrior and home maker as she traveled to various churches that her husband pastored. In the summer of 1943 they lived in Hartman , CO., and Hayes Center, Neb. They moved to Newton Falls, Ohio in the fall of 1943, from 1947 - 1949 they were in Cincinnati, Oh., they returned to Newton Falls, Oh., until March of 1996 when they moved to Alliance, Oh. On June 26, 1997 Brother Kenneth West pasted away, and Sister West remained in Alliance until 2008 when she moved to Hilliard, Oh. (Columbus). She was a member of Fairmount Emmanuel Church in Alliance and Calvary Holiness Church in Columbus. She is survived by a daughter Naomi Dawn (husband Charles) Lee of Galloway, Oh., and a son James W.(wife Sandee) West of Twinsburg, Oh., six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers; Lloyd, Charles Ivan, Rhuben, and Ben Lacy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 10, 2012, 12 noon at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home, in Salem, with Pastor Aaron Echols officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 AM until service. Burial will be in Braceville Cemetery; Newton Falls, Oh. Memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Bolivian Missions or the donor's choice.
