Denise Kay (Frantz) McQuiston 59, Salem, died at 6:20 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on October 9, 1963, in Salem, Ohio. She was the daughter of Allen and Patricia Ann (Mumaw) Frantz.

Denny was a lifetime area resident of Salem and a graduate of West Branch High School. She had worked at various restaurants in the area, most recently Ricky's English Pub, but is well known for her time spent at the former Timberlanes Restaurant in Salem, Chi Chi's, and Cafe Capri in Boardman.

She had a unique taste and a special eye for artistic expression and creation. Her creative eye showed no limits as she painted, created mosaics and paper mache, and consistently embraced new ideas and influences the longer that she worked. It was rare that she did not have some sort of project in the works for one of her many friends and family members. Her vibrant and eclectic tastes were reflected in any space that she called home, while her collection of artwork and decorations were an extension of her authentic and genuine personality. She could make any space she called home truly her own.

Anyone that knows Denny will know that she was always 100% herself, that no one could tell her what to do or who to be, and that she loved her kids dearly. She will always be remembered as strong-willed, stubborn, and loving. She was a fighter and forever was and always will be a free spirit. She loved her kids, she loved her friends, and she sure did love her cats.

She is survived by her son Marshal (Pavin) Sarginger of Salem, daughter Grace McQuiston of Canfield, her brothers Dave (Theresa) Frantz and Darren (Cari) Frantz both of Salem, and her sister-in-law Sandy Frantz.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Damon Frantz.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem. Rev Byron Bufkin will be officiating. A time of visitation will be from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
