Donna Jean Blasiman, 79, of Salem, died Thursday, December 12, 2013, with her husband by her side at her home, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Donna, a lifelong resident of the Salem area, was born March 14, 1934 in Salem to the late Wilbur and Lena Miller Weaver. She graduated from Greenford High School in 1952. She married the love of her life, Wilbur E. Blasiman, on May 8, 1953. He survives. The Blasiman's, their children, their family and their friends happily celebrated the couple's 60th anniversary in May, 2013. Mrs. Blasiman pursued her education degree and graduated from the former Youngstown State College (nka YSU) in 1963 and from Kent State University with her Masters in Education in 1972. She was a much beloved and celebrated teacher with the West Branch School District for 30 years. Donna was a lifelong member, a choir member and an elder of the Concord Presbyterian Church. She and Wilbur were avid Cleveland sports fans, particularly the Indians, and supported West Branch sports. Donna was a caring and loving individual to her family, students, church and community. Survivors include: her husband, Wilbur E. Blasiman, three sons, Gary Blasiman of Canton, OH, Gerald Blasiman at home, and Doug (Bev) Blasiman of Hudson, MI, six grandchildren, Scott Blasiman of Columbus, OH, Jayme Blasiman of Columbus, OH, Michelle (Chris) Olsgard of Columbus, OH, Jackie Blasiman of Pittsburgh, PA, Eric Blasiman of Hudson, MI, Craig Blasiman of Hudson, MI and four great grandchildren. Donna is also survived by her brother, John Weaver, of Salem, OH. She will be missed by her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Paul Heaver, her brother, Leroy Weaver, her sister-in-law, Joyce Weaver and nephew, Jeff Weaver. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14 , 2013, at the Concord Presbyterian Church, 10013 S. Salem-Warren Road, Salem, OH. The Rev. Joyce Reynolds and the Rev. Donald P. Barnes will be officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 1617 E. State Street, Salem, OH and on Saturday, December 14, 2013, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm, at the Concord Presbyterian Church.
