Donna Lorraine (Kalkbrenner) Peeples 81, of Salem, passed away at 4:45 PM Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at Salem Regional Medical Center.

She was born on February 16, 1944, in Titusville, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Sherman) Kalkbrenner.

Donna was a 1962 graduate of Maplewood High School. She had worked in security at a community development. Donna was a caring and loving person who enjoyed traveling to South Carolina and Pennsylvania and going to reunions to see her family. She liked to watch murder mysteries and play cards and word games. Donna was witty at telling jokes. Her favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter Jennie (Jason) Smith of Salem, her siblings; Dorothy Cleland and Frances Stephens both of Centerville, Pennsylvania, grandchildren; Hailey Michelle Douglas, Dillon Jackson, Jenna Jackson, Devin Lopez, Taylor Smith, Jacob Richards, Angel Davis, Andrew Bowles, Joshua Richards, Keith Scott, and Tony Webster and her great grandchildren; Liam Hogue, Madelyn Hogue, Jackson Hogue, Vincent Richards, Celeste Richards and Khalani Scott.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Stanley Herbert Douglas, her second husband Gordon T. Peeples, a daughter Melissa Douglas, a son Shawn Lee Joseph Douglas and her siblings; Emery Kalkbrenner, Archie Kalkbrenner, Don Kalkbrenner, Joe Kalkbrenner, Grace Humes, and Alice Palmer.
