Obituary

Donna Beiling (née Moore)

June 16, 1926 - December 24, 2025

Our beloved matriarch, Donna Beiling, 89, of North Lima (and formerly of Salem, Ohio), entered her eternal home on Christmas Eve, surrounded by the love that defined her extraordinary life. She passed after a lengthy stay at The Cleveland Clinic.

Born in Bergholz, Ohio, Donna's heart overflowed with generosity and unwavering faith. As a devoted member of Greenford Christian Church, she lived her beliefs daily—opening her home, her heart, and her hands to anyone in need. Her 68-year marriage to Gerald was a testament to enduring love, caring for him faithfully until his passing earlier this year.

Donna's fingerprints touched countless lives. She guided hundreds of young people through her beloved baton corps, The Quaker-ettes of Salem and the Lisbon VFD Marching group. She joyfully maintained contact with the members as they grew to be adults, parents and even grandparents.  She helped many families save their homes as a credit counselor at Catholic Charities and Community Action. She also taught many seminars throughout Columbiana County about finances and budgeting. Donna happily mentored anyone seeking a better path. Donna was very proud of the years that she served with Catholic Charities and Community Action because she felt that her time there was more of a calling than a job. She also had been employed at Herron Transfer Co. as well as Salem China.

Whether tending her cherished roses in her hillside garden, cheering on the Cavaliers from VIP seats she won in 2024, rooting for the Cleveland Guardians with her husband, or hosting family gatherings that filled her home with joy, Donna created magic in everyday moments. Her fellow bowlers of her Salem mixed doubles bowling league became family as she and her husband Jerry enjoyed their participation for decades. Her garage sale adventures were legendary... she LOVED a bargain! Her ever-present thriftiness even earned national recognition from Ollie's Discount Stores as one of America's cheapest shoppers- a badge she wore with pride and laughter.  However, thriftiness only applied to what she considered unnecessary spending... She gave abundantly from her heart to all she knew and loved and would have spent her last cent to help another.  There were no bounds to her desire to give.

One of Donna's last Facebook posts proclaimed: "To be rich is not what you have in your bank account, but what you have in your heart." Donna was truly rich with love in her heart for her Lord and Savior as well as for her family and friends.

Donna was proceeded in death by parents Willam Moore and Elizabeth Berdine Moore, husband Gerald Beiling, Brothers Wilbur Moore, Lawrence Moore, Robert Moore and Billy Moore, Sisters Doris Meier and Nancy Dabelstein, Sisters-In Law Betty Beiling and Dona Koffel and Brothers-in-law Jack Meier, William Koffel, and Tom Yarwood.
