Doris Jean (Riley) Lewis 91, of Salem, passed away at 9:15 am on April 25, 2018 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Salem.
She was born on February 28, 1927, in Chester, WV, the daughter of the late Warren and Elizabeth (Seederly) Riley.
Doris graduated in 1945 from the Chester (WV)High School. She was member of the Salem Emmanuel Lutheran Church. She worked at United Tool and Die, Barclay, Bliss, and was a registration clerk at Salem Community Hospital until she retired. Doris was a former member of the Jaycees. She loved to dance, especially to Big Band music and when she was older, she and Bill attended the senior proms. She enjoyed going to concerts in Waterworth Memorial Park, garage sales, spending time gardening, and working in her yard. She was always active in church groups. Doris enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs. She liked going on vacation and her favorite destination was the beach.
She is survived by her children, W. Jeffery (Belinda Marie Rance) Lewis, Elizabeth Ann (Gary) Guappone and James Riley (Nancy Jane) Lewis all of Salem, her three grandchildren, five step grandchildren, her three great-grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren, and her sister, Miriam (Jack) Durham of Grandville, OH.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Albert Lewis who passed away on December 27, 2014, her son Scott Riley Lewis, her grandson, Michael Jeff Lewis, brother James Riley and an infant sister
Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
