Dorothy (Rodriques) Tyler 87, of Columbiana, died at 11:33 AM Monday at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 6, 1928 in Oahu, HI., the daughter of the late Richard and Katherine (Gomes) Rodriques. She was an AVON rep for many years and worked at the Mark Thomas Hotel in California. She was catholic by faith and was a member of the St. Jude's Catholic Church in Columbiana. She came to Columbiana to be close to her daughter then had to move to the Parkside Nursing and Rehab. Ctr. Dorothy loved to do all sorts of crafts, walking on the beech, spending time with her beloved dog, Pokie, she lived for and loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brian Tyler who preceded her in death in November, 2008. She is survived by her children, Leilani (Gary) Wolford of Salem, James (Maura) VanDervort of AZ., Dennis (Deborah) VanDervort of Columbiana and Debbie (Clark) Hoffman of WA., She had eight grandchildren, Stacy Markley of Germany, and Jenifer Theel of WA., (She raised these two grandchildren) and Mark Woods of WA., Tabitha Dominguez of WA., Rachelle Duckworth of CA., Tyler Licata of CA., Jennifer Hodson of Iowa, and Erika Baker of TX., and sixteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Norbert Rodriques and Hilda Philo. A Celebration of Life gathering and Visitation will be held Friday from 1-3 PM and from 7-9 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. Please come and visit with the family and share your favorite stories about Dorothy. The family would like to extend to all the nurses, aids and staff of Parkside Nur. And Rehab. Ctr. their appreciation of their care to Dorothy. The love you gave to her made the time she spent there quite memorable. There will be no funeral services held and interment will be in California.
