Edward L. "Bud" Gregory 93, of Salem passed away at 8:50 PM Thursday, July 11, 2014 at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Bud was born on October 3, 1920 in East Oakdale, Ky. The only son of Overton Lee and Constance Deacy (Tressell) Gregory. He has been a resident of Salem for the last fifty years, moving here after serving actively in the US Navy for twenty years. He was abord the destroyer, Dale, during the attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941. After active duty, he served another ten years in the national Reserves. Bud retired , after almost twenty-five years from RAG Tooling Company. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing pool. He is survived by his niece and caregiver, Jean (the late Richard) Grimstad of Salem, a nephew Michael Anistasia of Florida, and many great and great great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah "Woodie" Woodard and three sisters and their spouses, Marguerite (the late Sam) Miller of Florida, Irene Milton (the late Clarence) Green of Florida, and Lula Mae (the late Anistasia) Winchester of Tennessee. A private service will be held at a later date. The burial is being held in Grandview Cemetery, Salem. Arrangements by Affordable Cremations (1-855-CREMATE) / Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
