Edward George Johnson 82 of Salem, passed away at 9:49 on Tuesday, June 13 at his home. He was born on August 18, 1934, in Shippensport, PA, the son of the late Clifford Ernest and Etlielda Jane (Korn) Johnson. He formerly worked for Heavy Equipment Operators Union #66. He built his own house as well as working in construction for a while. He had many interests, one of which was woodworking. He also liked to collect Lionel Trains. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a big fan of the Indians and the Browns. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty E Custer, his children, Donna Mae Johnson of Salem, Steve Edward Johnson of Winona, Wayne Eric (Marcy) Johnson of Salem, his grandchildren, Steve Edward Johnson, Derek James Johnson, Dawn Heather Anderson, Jason Andrew Galclick, his great-grandchildren, Cleo, Paige and Jade, Sylas Johnson, Meadow Mae Anderson, Kailyn Galchick, Jacob and Charley Johnson, his siblings, Robert Johnson, Gene Johnson, and Judy Linton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Mae Huffman, Jim Johnson, Alice McLuggage, Bill Johnson, Hazel Anderson, Don Johnson, Glenn Johnson, and Violet Johnson. There will be no services held. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services in Salem.
