Edwin Lawrence George 77, of Salem, died at 9:58 PM Tuesday, December 8 in the Emergency Room of Salem Regional Medical Center following an accident on Pidgeon Road. He was born on August 18, 1938, the son of the late Leroy and Mary M. (Wallea) George. Ed was a retiree of NRM, a member of the Bird watchers group and liked Ohio State Buckeyes. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret "Peggy" (Rogers) George in 1999, and his daughter Kathleen L. Taucher in 2015. He is survived by his grandchildren, Tricia Lu (Kyle Herron) Taucher, Trixie Leah Taucher and Adam Jacob Taucher all of Salem, his son-in-law Rick Taucher of Salem and a son Carl Emerson George of Portsmouth. He also had his siblings who he grew up with, Don, Walter, LeRoy, George, Lois Nida and Doris Valentine. A service will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem, Ohio. The Rev. J. Sheldon Cosma will be officiating the services with burial in Hope Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Saturday.
