IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Emma Lucinda
(Barnhouse) Hazelwood
October 6, 1936 – September 4, 2024
Emma Lucinda (Barnhouse) Hazelwood 87, of Leetonia, (Formerly of East Palestine) died at 5:35 AM Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Parkside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on October 6, 1936, in Negley, Ohio, the daughter of the late Leonard Wood and Myrtle Evylin (Butler) Barnhouse.
Emma was a member of the Mt. Calvary Church in New Waterford and worked previously as a manager of a department store.
Emma will always be remembered for coming out for family events, gatherings, and playing games with the grandchildren over the years. She was always there on time or before for everything in life. She was a follower of all kinds of sports, but the Atlanta Braves was a favorite. Her years of working and being a manager perfectly suited her with her take charge style and micro-managing ability. Several things gave her pleasure, singing gospel music, shopping, eating, sweet candies, and word-challenging games, but most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three children; Patricia Ann (Raymond) Card of Salem, Donna Renee (Michael) McMillan of East Palestine and Carol Ann (John) Basinger of Leetonia, grandchildren; Marcia Slagle, James Adams, Scott Deeter, Matt Deeter, Denise Woods, Ben Basinger, Tami Paniagua, Stephanie Curfman, great-grandchildren; Cassondra Feezle, Bethany Vollnogle, Abbigal Ferko, Marcus Deeter, Timothea Deeter, Austin Deeter, Isabella Deeter, Alysa Baddely, Tyler Gane, Sydni Holmes, Seth Holmes, Ian Freed, Parker Paniague, Kaden Paniagua, Brandy Palmer, Amber Holloway, great great grandchildren; Miyah Vollnogle, Vincent Baddely, Chasyn Freed, Sabrina Vollnogle, Payton Vollnogle, Owen Curfman, Ian Curfman, Scotty Deeter, and Levi Deeter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on August 31, 2018, by her husband Edward Joseph Hazelwood, all her siblings; Lawrence, Earl, Chalmers, Clyde, Thomas, Alfred, Dale, Arthur, and Elaine Barnhouse, and a grandson Bill Salmons.
There will be no services at this time, but a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a future time.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Greenisen Family of Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
