Ervin M. Hershberger, 84 of Lisbon, went home to be with Jesus at 6:18 pm Tuesday at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, Ohio. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, after a long struggle with Parkinson's disease. Ervin was born April 21, 1932 in Sugarcreek, Ohio, the son of the late Moses E. (FurMose) and Mary (Troyer) Hershberger. Mr. Hershberger was a member of First Christian Church, Salem. He was a skilled carpenter by trade and a member of the Cleveland, Ohio chapter of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. His life was dedicated to loving and living for God and his family. He was passionate about the outdoors, fishing and hunting. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Irene (Miller) Hershberger; three brothers, Alvin (Katie) Hershberger of Millersburg, OH, Raymond (Edna) Hershberger of Millersburg, OH, Levi (Pauline) Hershberger of Lott, TX, brother-in-law, Harvey Bowman, sister-in-law, Barbara Hershberger ; son, Gary (Debbie) Hershberger of Middlefield, OH, daughter, Gloria (Bud) Weekley of Lisbon, OH, ; grandchildren, Raymond (Lindsey) Pate, Joshua (Jennifer) Hershberger, Seth (Gayla) Pate, Sarah (Steve) Blake, Nathan Pate, Amanda (Shawn) Haines, Laura (Dave) Roeser and 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Moses and Mary Hershberger, sister, Katie Bowman and brother, Melvin Hershberger.
