Obituary
Ethel Maxine (McMurray) Nichols 75, of Salem, died at 6:39 PM Friday, May 31 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
She was born on June 19, 1943 in Youngstown, OH the daughter of the late Amos and Matilda (Beresford) McMurray.
Maxine worked a various places over the years. The one she spoke of often was at Disney World in Florida, but locally Gorants Candy, Warren Molding Plastics and some gas station/convenience stores.
She did enjoy traveling and spending time at Lake Erie. Maxine did sowing and knitting when she was able. She always enjoyed having her granddaughter read books to her as well as watching TV.
She is survived by her sons, Duane Metts of Chillicothe, Douglas Metts of Salem and one granddaughter.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her third husband, Harold E. Nichols in 2008, her children, Daryle, Denise, and Dorleen Metts, and siblings Helen E. Beck, John, Kenneth and Richard McMurray.
There will be no services held at this time.
