Florence Marie (Yates) Stark 94, of Damascus, passed away peacefully with family by her side, Saturday, December 9, 2023.

Marie was born in Salem, daughter of the late Elden and Florence (Burns) Yates.

Marie lived her whole life in the Salem area. She worked at various places, retiring from Tempo Products in Solon, Ohio. After retiring she enjoyed volunteering at the hospital. She also belonged to Senior's and Retirees. Marie was a member of the Salem First Christian Church.

Marie was a very unique and special person, a true socializer with family, friends and anyone she met. The time spent with her family warmed her heart. The family often would gather at her house when her son came home to visit. The music would startup, microphones would come out, and it all broke loose for true family fun.

On quiet nights she enjoyed everything from crocheting and listening to Dean Martin, to watching westerns, putting puzzles together, and baking her favorite sweets.

She is survived by her daughter Rose (Richard) Stroka, daughter-in-law Susan Castle, nine grandchildren; Donald Castle JR, Christine (Castle) Greenwell, Zachary, Christian, and Michael Castle, Rebecca Syx, Brian, Deidre and Stephanie Mitchell, as well as fourteen great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Stark, a son Donald Castle, siblings; Ethel Mae Sheen and Robert Yates and a great grandson.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 12 noon with the Pastor Matt Doerle officiating. A time of visitation will be from 11 AM until time of services at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem.
