Obituary

Frank Edmond Devine, 66, of Coraopolis, Pennsylvania, formerly of Salem, Ohio, passed away while vacationing in Treasure Island, Florida on Thursday, March 7th, 2019, with the woman he loved sharing his life with, Gloria (McDade) DiOrio.

Frank was born November 15th, 1952 in Salem, Ohio, the son of Nola J. (Riddle) Cooper of Salem, and the late Frank Edwin Devine.

He was a graduate of Salem Senior High School class of 1971, and lived and worked in Salem for most of his adult life, with over 30 years' experience working at Salem Blanking Division of Master Parts, finishing his career there as the shop foreman.

Frank's life was not defined by his education or his career. His life is best defined by the way he connected with people, and the way other people felt about him. Growing up his friends and family knew him as Tadpole, and would still occasionally address him by that name when they would see him around town. He was a member of several social clubs in Salem, including the Eagles, Amvets, and the Italian Club, where he used to gather with friends for a cold beer on a night out. When he wasn't meeting up with friends on a Friday or Saturday night, you could find him by his pool or out by the lake, ready to cook out for anyone who wanted to join the party. Frank's smile was infectious and you knew you were in for a good time when you were with him.

Frank was preceded in death by his father, Frank Edwin Devine, by a younger brother, James M. Devine, and by his step-father, Leo F. Cooper.

He is survived by his beloved mother, Nola J. Cooper, three sisters, Gina (Mark) Heim of Staunton, Virginia, Pauline J. Devine, and Mary Devine both of Salem, and a brother, Roger Devine of Salem. Frank also has three sons, Todd (CJ) Devine of Youngstown, Brad (Beth) Devine of Leetonia, and Phillip T. Devine of Salem. He also has two step- sons from a previous marriage, Jason and Brandon (Michelle) Smith both of Salem, who he treated like his own for more than 18 years of their lives. Three grandchildren share his last name, but he was like a grandfather to eight more little ones from his close bond with the McDade and Smith families. He also had several cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Donations may be made to the Eastern Regional Kidney Foundation, 4822 Market St #240, Youngstown, OH 44512.
