Franklin Robert Richards, 59, of East Liverpool, died at his home on March 1, 2014. He was born on August 31, 1954 in East Liverpool, a son of the late George R. and Emelia (Jacobs) Richards.
He lived in the area most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran , serving in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam era.
He was formerly employed with DTC of Newell, W.Va. as a deck-hand on river barges.
He was a member of the Boyce United Methodist Church of East Liverpool.
He is survived by his wife Susan Marie (Laughlin) Richards whom he married August 4, 1984.
He is also survived by two daughters Ashley (Nick) (Hilliard) Glaser of Columbus, Dustie (Bobby) Pokorny of Cleveland, two sons Jason (April) Walker of East Liverpool, and Jacob Susan) Lawrence of Ft. Railey, Kansas. Two brothers George D. Richards of East Liverpool, Gilbert (Sharon) Richards of Niagara Falls, N.Y. and six grandchildren. Two nieces Tara Stine and Jennifer Richards, and a nephew Shawn (Daina) Richards all of Buffalo, N.Y.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Frank R. Richards.
A memorial service will be held on Friday 7 PM at the Boyce United Methodist Church with the Rev. Alvin Talkington officiating, calling hours from 4-7 PM at the church, full military honors will be given by the American Legion, burial will be at Spring Grove Cemetery.
