Gertrude E. (Lozier) Fender 91, of the Salem/Hanoverton area, formerly of Florida, died at 4:50 AM Tuesday at Salem Regional Medical Center following about a two year illness.
She was born on July 24, 1926 in Braceville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harvey C. and Florence I. (Burson) Lozier.
She was a home maker most of her life, but did work at the Isley's Restuarant in North Jackson years ago. Gertrude was a lady of many talents but truly loved life to it's fullest. Her family has many memories to treasure. Some of the most important ones were of her, playing cards,cooking, cleaning, traveling, dancing, playing the lottery, traveling, and watching her beloved Cleveland Browns. Gertrude loved her family, and they all knew it. It was very clear that family was the most important thing in her life.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl (David Martindale) Henson of Warren, Jack (Sarajane) Fender of Salem, James (Jean George) Fender of Leetonia, Bruce (Susan Riley) Fender of Lisbon, Dean (Deborah) Fender of Lordstown, Todd Fender of Texas, Trudy Miller of Lisbon, Adele (Lanney) Lake of Hanoverton, Anita Michael Kuzenko of Warren, 32 grand children, 52 great grandchildren, and 15 grear great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas E. Fender., siblings, Lora B. Gregory, Jack Burson Lozier and Lillian Best and daughter, Bonnie Lee Zizzo .
By her request, no services will be held. There was a private viewing held on Tuesday evening for the family.
