Gloria June (Klemann) Chestnut, age 79, of Columbiana, wrapped up a beautifully lived, fiercely loved life on August 8, 2026, at 12:21 PM, passing away peacefully at Mercy Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, surrounded by the infinite love of her family.

Born on August 28, 1946, in Lisbon, Ohio, to her loving parents, William and Neva (Highman) Klemann, Gloria grew into a woman of immense warmth, incredible strength, and boundless joy. A proud 1964 graduate of United Local, she went on to earn her associate degree from YSU, paving the way for a remarkable career. Gloria spent 20 dedicated years breaking glass ceilings and touching lives before retiring as an engineer from Norfolk Southern—proving she could navigate any track life put in front of her.

Above all else, Gloria’s heart belonged to her family. On November 9, 1963, she married the love of her life, Patrick Michael Chestnut. For over six decades, their story was one of deep devotion, shared laughter, and a true partnership that stood the test of time.

Gloria is now reunited in heaven with those who preceded her in death, including her parents; her cherished daughter, Cynthia Louise Chestnut; and her dear brother, William Klemann.

Her legacy of love and bright spirit live on through her devoted husband, Patrick Michael Chestnut; her cherished children, Patrick Lee (Kimberly) Chestnut, Robert James (Candice) Chestnut, and April Lynn Chestnut; her loving siblings, Patty (Bob) Geckler, Rhonda Liedtke, and Mark (Kathy) Klemann; 5 adored grandchildren; and 9 precious great-grandchildren, who brought endless smiles to her face.

A vibrant soul with a zest for life, Gloria found pure happiness in the simple and wonderful things. Whether she was tending to her garden, marveling at alpacas, getting lost in a great movie, turning up the music, rocking out at concerts, or showering her beloved dogs with affection, Gloria lived every single day out loud and with an open heart.

Her laughter was contagious, her hugs were a safe harbor, and her love was a gift to everyone fortunate enough to know her. While our world is a little less bright without her, the sunshine she brought into our lives will never fade.
