Dr. Howard L. Moore Jr. DDS 95, of Sebring formerly of Salem, died at 5 pm on Thursday, May 24,2018 at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community with family by his side. He was born on March 21, 1923 in Girard, OH, the son of the late Howard L and Ann (Wormer) Moore Sr. Howard graduated from Girard High School and attended Mount Union College before enlisting in the Navy in 1942 and serving during WWll in the Pacific. After his naval service, Howard earned his Dental Degree from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry and practiced in Salem for over 35 years. He was a former member of the Holy Trinity English Lutheran Church in Girard and Salem, and of the Salem United Methodist Church. He was currently a member of the Sebring United Methodist Church. Howard was a member of Corydon Palmer Dental Society and the American Dental Association. He was a former member of the Salem Kiwanis Club, and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He is survived by his daughters, Carol A (John) Stilts of Salem, Katherine A (Morgan) Moore-Wines of San Jose, CA, Martha Nelson of Akron, Louise D Highman of Akron, eight grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, the former Henrietta J Crider, and his siblings, Virginia Senseman, Charles Moore, and twins Betty Ritter and Norma Powers.
