James Joseph Hurst, 67, died at 10:02 AM, Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the hospice house in Poland.

He was born on October 26, 1952, in Salem, the son of the late James and Adonia (Allmon) Hurst.

He resided in Washingtonville, OH. Born and raised in Salem, he graduated from the Salem High School. He was a Catholic by faith. James worked for many years as a pump builder, and enjoyed wrenching on cars and motorcycles. In addition, he entered the US Army in October of 1972 during the Vietnam War, and was discharged in May of 1973.

He is survived by his wife of just over two years, Sherry (Manvel) Hurst, whom he married on June 20, 2018, child; Carl Hurst, siblings; Thomas Hurst, Gerald Hurst, Barbara Hurst, Ronald Hurst, Lillian Simpson, and Joseph Hurst.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by brother, Jeffrey Hurst.
