May 26, 1957 – June 21, 2025
James Michael "Buzz" Dreher Sr. 68, of Salem, died at 9:11 AM Saturday, June 21, 2025, in the emergency room of Salem Regional Medical Center.
He was born on May 26, 1957, in Canton, son of the late Charles and Rosemary Catherine (Abrigg) Dreher.
Mike was a former over the road truck driver for many years. He served in the US Army from 1978-1983. He was big into his motorcycles and was a member in the V-Twin Cruisers motorcycle club. Mike was a huge NASCAR fan, he loved the Cleveland Browns and Indians, collecting Hot Wheels, spending time in the outdoors, and listening to country music while tinkering in the garage. One of the bigger thrills in his life was being around his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children; James M. (Lisa) Dreher Jr. and Jessica Rekowski both of Little Falls, MN, and Katie R. (Arthur Pettit) Dreher of Ashtabula, step children; Richard Myers Jr. of Canton and Zachary (Katlyn) Myers of Massillion, siblings; Debbie (Walt) Jakubiak and Charles (Diana) Dreher both of Louisville, Diane Sellmam of Canton, and Kimberly (Rick) DuBois of Freedonia, NY, grandchildren; Jaxon and Zoe Dreher, Tyler and Lucas Rewowski, Ricky and Stella Myers, and Zelda Myers, three step grandchildren and his long time girlfriend Laura Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Shelly Updyke.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Sunday, June 29, 2025, 2 PM at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen and Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. Their chapter's Chaplin Steve "MacGyver" Motherwell will be officiating. A time of visitation will be from noon to 2 PM at the funeral home. The Salem Honor Guard will render military honors at 2 PM. He will be laid to rest on Monday afternoon at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio.
