Joan E. (Fox) Burkholder 85 of Salem, formerly of Washingtonville, died at 5:50 AM Wednesday at Essex of Salem #2. She was born on October 23, 1927 in Garrettsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Norton) Fox. She was a 1945 graduate of Garrettsville High School and attended Hiram College. She had assisted her husband in the running of his auto sales business. She is survived by her don David of Salem, a daughter Anne (James) Blandford of Columbus, and two grandsons. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David in 2009 and a brother Tom Fox. It was Joans wishes to have a private funeral and to be laid to rest beside her husband in Drakesburg Cemetery.
