Joel Baron Piersol 79, of Leetonia, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital following a short Illness.

He was born on October 27, 1945, in Salem, the son of the late George and Olive (Wiekart) Piersol.

Joel was a Leetonia High School graduate. He was a tool and die maker and worked at the former Sekely Tool and Die Company in Salem.

He is survived by his step-children; Christopher Richard (Wendy) Andric of Lisbon and Lisa Marie (Jeffery) Simms of Columbiana as well as 6 step-grandchildren and 4 step-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Joel was preceded in death on November 24, 2001, by his wife Judith Ann (Tharp) Piersol and step-grandchildren; Carmen Andric and Heath Harmon.

He will be laid to rest in the Franklin Square Cemetery with his first wife, Judith. There will be no public calling hours or services held.

Arrangements were made by the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Salem.
