John Carroll Mc Guire, 80, of Salem, died at 8 AM Thursday at his home. John was born on December 9,1931 in Salem. The son of the late John and Erla K. (Beck) Mc Guire. A lifetime area resident, a member of First Christian Church of Salem. and enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, anything in the out-doors. He had been a molder for 33 years when he retired from Horizon Castings of Columbiana. He is survived by his wife,of 59 years, the former Norita Ann Barnes whom he married April 23, 1953, two daughters, Margaret Lynn Mc Guire of Twinsburg, Ohio and Rebecca Louise (Charles) Mc Guire-Smith of Salem; two sons, James Carroll (Ginger) Mc Guire of Salem; and Jeffrey Carl Mc Guire of Salem, a sister Erla Mae Emelo of Monroeville, Al., a brother Donald Keith Mc Guire of Salem; twelve grandchildren; Angelina Carl of Salem, Andrew Mc Guire of E. Palestine, Jacob Mc Guire of Sebring, Richard Haynes of Sebring, Katlyn Haynes of Alliance, Bryan Mays of Twinsburg, Jesse Mc Guire of Salem, Jordan Mc Guire of Salem, Matthew Smith of Salem, Brittany Smith of Brimfield, Ohio, Alexis Smith of Salem, and Sarah Smith of Salem; two great-grandchildren Hunter and Devin Mc Guire both of Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Michael Allen Mc Guire; six sisters, Betty Jane Adams, Louise Heddleston, Vernetta Nell Kastanek, Hazel Geneva Ludt,Alice Joann Cope and Beatrice Mc Guire; and a brother Ralph Beck Mc Guire, and a granddaughter Jessica Mc Guire. Services will be held on Sunday at 3 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home, with Pastor Leonard Moore officiating, calling hours will be on Saturday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to MVI Hospice.
