John Jacob Melott 72, of Rogers, OH, passed away in his own home at 6:00 am on the morning of March 15, 2017. He was born on December 15, 1945 in Clarkson, OH, the son of the late Jacob Nelson and Nellie Marie (Lambright) Melott. John formally worked at the barrel manufacturing company in Negley, OH. Recently he did janitorial work at the Rogers sale grounds. He love to hunt, fish and spending time in nature. He was not a people person and preferred to spend time alone. John is survived by his children, John Jacob (Pamela) Melott of Homosassa, FL, Mary Ann Slovak of Pittsburgh, PA, Charles Edward Melott of Orlando, FL, Robert Joseph (Deanna) Melott of AL, Billy Melott of PA, and Timothy Coleman of Racine, OH and siblings, Nancy Bowers of Rogers, OH, Betty Gribben of East Palestine, OH, Keith Hebrin of Rogers, OH, Linda Parker of Aurora, MO, Claudia Pearson of NH, and Twila Flara of New Cumberland, WV. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Hughes, Dorkis Artrip, Emma Lee Weddle, Terry J Melott, Jackie Parson, Charles Melott, Martha Hebron, and Jerry Melott.
