William Barrett

John William "Jack" Barrett, of Hanoverton, passed away on April 14, 2025, at Minerva Rehabilitation & Nursing Home, at the age of 74.
He was born on August 6, 1950, in East Liverpool, Ohio, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Haney) Barrett.
After graduating from Beaver Local in 1969, Jack joined the United States Navy in 1970 and served his country in the Vietnam War, until he was honorably discharged in 1974. Following his service, he went to work for the former Crucible Steel in Midland, Pennsylvannia and then worked at American Standard in Salem. Jack was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hanoverton and a proud Mason of the Carroll Lodge 124.
He is survived by his wife, the former Melody K. McCombs whom he married January 3, 1986, his sister Mary Jo (Wes) Burgett, his brother Joe Barrett, and also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday, April 18, 2025, 6 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services of Salem, with Pastor Tom Allmon officiating. A time for visitation will be 5-6 PM at the funeral home. Military honors will be rendered by the Salem Honor Guard at 6 PM. A Masonic service will also be conducted. Jack will be laid to rest at a later date.
