Josephine (Bergant) Pukalski 94, of Salem, died at 8:10 AM Sunday, march 8, 2015 at Copeland Oaks Retirement Community, Sebring, Ohio. She was born on December 2, 1920 in Lisbon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Jacob and Frances (Oman) Bergant. She was employed by Columbiana County Court as a Clerk and then moved on to Hunt Valve Company and worked in the front office until her retirement. When she was not working, she and her husband enjoyed to golf and spend time together. She was a member of Salem St. Paul's Catholic Church and longtime member of the Salem Golf Club. In her younger years, she and her sisters had their own polka band and she had her own private pilots license. She is survived by her son, Eddy J. (Caryn) Pukalski of Indian Trail, NC, a sister Elizabeth (John) Kertel of Cambridge, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward, sisters Frances Hoffman, Mary Mellon and Virginia Eberly. Josephine has requested that there be no public calling hours and a private burial service. The Fr. Bob Edwards from the church will officiate the services on Wednesday at Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. The burial will immediately follow in Grandview Cemetery in Salem.
