Obituary

Josh Randall Ervin, a man whose vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and generous heart left a permanent mark on everyone he met, passed away on August 10, 2026, at Salem Regional Medical Center. Born on February 15, 1971, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Judy (Smart) Ervin and the late Harry A. Ervin, Josh was truly the life of the party and lived every single day to its absolute fullest.

A proud graduate of Fitch High School, Josh spent his career working in the heating and cooling industry, bringing warmth to others both through his profession and through his larger-than-life personality. Outside of work, Josh had a zest for life and an array of passions that brought him immense joy. Whether he was firing up the grill to cook a great meal, hitting the open road on his motorcycle, enjoying the tranquility of camping, or simply savoring a quiet moment with a good cup of coffee, Josh knew how to appreciate the simple pleasures.

Above all else, Josh's greatest pride and joy were his children and grandchildren. He cherished every moment spent with Jacob (Dakota Wolfe) Ervin, Mackenzie (Nick Gingher) Ervin, and Connor Kerr. His face lit up with pure pride whenever he spoke of his precious grandchildren, Cameron and Jaxton, who brought boundless joy to his world. Rooted by a deep and abiding faith in God, Josh carried a spiritual strength that guided him through life and comforted those around him.

Josh's memory will forever be cherished by his loving mother, Judy Ervin; his devoted siblings, Lisa Dickson, Joe Ervin and his wife Terri, James Ervin, Jessica Ervin, and Julie Bevington and her husband Bud; as well as many extended family members, dear friends, and anyone lucky enough to have shared a laugh with him.

Though he has left this earthly home, the warmth of Josh's smile, the echo of his laughter, and the deep love he had for his family will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
