Judith May (DeSantis) Gallitz, 76, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, at Parkside Health Care Center in Columbiana, Ohio. Born in Cleveland on April 29, 1949, to Ralph and Helen (Baur) DeSantis, Judith was a woman of quiet strength and a generous spirit.

Judith’s career reflected both her sharp mind and her soft heart. She spent many years as an executive secretary for Sohio (now BP), bringing her organizational talents to the corporate world. Outside of the office, she found great fulfillment in her work at local nursing homes, where she dedicated herself to helping and advocating for the elderly—a full-circle testament to the compassion she eventually received in her own final days.

She will be remembered most for her devotion to those she loved and the simple kindness she extended to neighbors and friends alike.

Judy’s legacy of love lives on through those she cherished most. Her memory will be forever carried by her devoted children, William Gallitz of Cambridge and Dana (Mark) Butler of Broadview Heights, three beloved grandchildren; Owen, Ashley and Roman, and her dear siblings, William (Georgianne) DeSantis, and Liz Lesczynski, as well as a community of extended family and friends who were touched by her kindness. She now finds peace alongside her parents and her brother, Ralph, who preceded her in passing.
