Lonnie Eugene Ezell 59, of Salem, died 8:10 AM Tuesday at his home following a short illness. He was born on July 17, 1954 in Meadville, Franklin County, MS., the son of the late Robert Willie and Katherine (Laird) Ezell. He was employed for nearly 20 years at Solomon's Scrap and Salvage yard. Eugene was a true lover of the outdoors. When the weather permitted, you would find him out fishing, playing horse shoes or corn holing. You were likely to find him playing cards, but most of all he loved to work. It did not matter if it was a holiday, weather was bad, you could find him working, scrapping metal, welding or torching. He is survived by his children, Josie Ezell, Christopher and Jamie Ewing all of Salem, and Amy (Nathan) Owsley of Kensington, siblings, Ronnie (Vickey)and Mike (Cindy) Ezell, and Evelyn (Robert) Buitt all of Mississippi, and Nancy Case of Louisiana, and fourteen grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twin brother Paul David Ezelland a nephew Robert Durr. Services will be held on Saturday, 7 Pm at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Salem. A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 7 PM on Saturday. The burial will be private on Monday. The family is asking that donation to be made to the funeral home to help with the costs of the services. They can be mailed to POB 113, Salem, Ohio 44460-0113.
