Lewis Russell Kring 74, of Salem, passed away at 10:23 am, on Thursday, February 2, 2018 at Salem Regional Medical Center.
Lewis was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and good friend to many.
He was born on August 13, 1943, in Cleveland, the son of the late William George and Betty (Reese) Kring.
He was a member of the Bunker Hill Methodist Church. He was a 1971 graduate of Salem High School. Lewis was former truck driver for TNT Hauling, Canal Fulton. He was an all around cowboy, who spent many hours as a horseman trainer, and participated in many events. He loved spending time at home, as well as buying and selling horses.
He was very proud of his grandchildren's academic abilities and also attended their sporting events when possible.
He is survived by his wife, the former Carol Jean Zeigler, who he married on May 15, 1964, his children, Russ (Tami J) Kring of Alliance, Kimberly Louise (Chuck) Strum of Chester, WV, his siblings, Janet Jury of Lisbon, Joyce Sherman of Lisbon, Linda Baker of Elkton, Cindy Yentry of Carrollton, Vicki Lillie of Hanoverton, Valorie Rendzinak of South Carolina, Steven Rendziniak, his grandchildren; Taylor Marie Kring, Devin Rachelle Kring, William Lewis Kring, C. Wyatt Strum.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Italian-American Club on Sunday, February 18 from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, contact the family to assist with food for the gathering. Arrangements by Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services.
