Lloyd N. Metts 91 of Washington Court House, formerly of Salem, ( A good and faithful servant to his Lord and Savior. Brother Metts has received his reward and moved on to his Heavenly mansion that the Lord had prepared for him. ) at 10:40 PM Saturday, January 31, at the home of his daughter and Son-in-Law. (The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Prov. 1:7) He was born on June 12, 1923 in Wayne Twp., Columbiana County, Ohio, the son of the late William C. and Ruth Harriet (Gilbert) Metts. He has been a resident of Washington Court House since 2005 when he and his wife Annette moved to the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Loydene and Michael Cole. He was a man of many talents, but was known for his wonderful garden and tomatoes that he shared with one and all. A machinist by trade, he loved to make and engineer things over the years. It came easy to him to make and do things with his 29 ½ years working at NRM until Dec 14, 1980. He was a very hard worker but was a good provider for his family over the years. He was a very devout and faithful Christian, and served his Lord to the end. He was an Emmanuel by faith, he most recently attended the Christ Victory Church in Bloomingburg, previously at Maple Corner Emmanuel Church in Xenia and Fairmount Emmanuel Church in Alliance. He is survived by his children, Roland Neal (Paulette) Metts and Melvin Lloyd (Linda) Metts all of Mundeleine, Ill., and Loydene (Michael) Cole of Washington Court House, and his brother-in-law Donald Whitehead of Salem, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Reathel Cadwell Metts whom he married in 1948 and who died in 1954, and his second wife, E. Annette Wheeler Metts whom he married in 1955 and who died in 2006, his siblings and in-laws, Grace (Lloyd) Horn, Paul (Betty) Metts, Doris (Marion) Yergen, Willis (Ruth) Metts and Lois Whitehead. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, 1 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services 1617 East State Street, Salem, Ohio. The Rev. Creed Thomas from Bloomingburg, Ohio and Rev. Aaron Echols of Alliance, Ohio, and Rev. Charles Headley of Herndon, Pa. will be officiating. The burial with committal services will be held in the Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Highlandtown, Ohio. A time of visitation will be held from 11 AM to 1 PM Friday at the funeral home.
