Obituary

Lorna Marise (Baldwin) Vermilyea 90, a good and faithful servant, went home to be with her heavenly father at 7:55 PM Sunday from her home in Salem. Sister Vermilyea was faithful to her Lord and her husband as he served in various churches and in the mission field in Haiti for 16 years. She was born on November 29, 1921 in Maguffey, Ohio to the late David R. and Lena B. (Dittus) Baldwin. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, The Rev. Robert O'Neil Vermilyea whom she married on August 23, 1947, her daughters, Linda Kathleen (Husband, Rev. Gordon Robert) Kincaid of Coopersburg, Pa., and Roberta Marcele (Husband, David Frances) Miller of Thomasville, NC., a sister Zylpha L. (Husband, Edwin Leroy) Hoover of Marion, Ind., her grandchildren, Julia, Sylvia, and Lydia Miller, Nathaniel and Jonathan Kincaid, and one great grand child, Naisa Kincaid. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Jones and Barbara Klobunik, a grand daughter, Patricia Bigger, and two great grandchildren, Caroline and Anthony Bigger. Services will be observed on Saturday, 11 AM at the Salem Wesleyan Methodist Church with Rev. Stanley Grabill, Rev. William Cope, Conference President, and Rev. Wayne Sander officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 4 to 6 PM at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen & Sons Funeral Home 1617 East State Street, Salem, and one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow at the Damascus Cemetery, Damascus, Ohio. Rev. Vermilyea has requested that memorial contributions to go to the mission work of Haiti.
